ACTIVE LAB SHOULD TAKE BOTH HEATHY JOINT AND HEALTHY SKIN AND COAT LARGER DOGS ARE OFTEN PRONE TO ARTHRITIS

June 09, 2014

I have been looking for a supplement to give to my dog (a 3 year old, female Lab) after using another brand with out too much success. A friend suggested your supplements to me. I don't know which supplement I should try though. I am choosing between the Healthy Joint supplement and the Healthy Skin and Coat supplement. I‘ve been looking for a supplement to get her coat in better shape and a gluc./chron. supplement to keep her joints healthy. My Lab does a lot of Frisbee, so I want something for joint maintenance.

Then I've also been trying to find a supplement that would help her grow hair on a bare patch on the underside of her chest. Would the Healthy Joint supplement also help with her coat? Then again, I am still not sure if she really needs a joint supplement. She is a hunting dog, so she gets a lot of hard running and working in each day (along with lots of lounging on the couchl). Thank you!

Hi Stacy,

I would think in your situation, the use of both the Health Joint formula and the Healthy Skin and Coat formula would be appropriate. The skin problem may take several months to respond, so please give the supplement a fair chance. In some cases the hair follicles are completely destroyed, in this case one can not expect the hair to regrow. If your dog is very active as you describe, I would advise a joint supplement too. Larger dogs are often prone to arthritis and it has been shown the glucosamine and chondroitin will help prevent osteo arthritis. We will be producing a combination of these two supplements soon. Hope this information helps you.
