Dr. Kruger,

I have heard rumors that chelated minerals can “create” larger puppies. I can find nothing to back this up, or counter it. Does anyone there have an opinion, or knowledge about this one way or the other? Thanks.

Kathryn S., Vermont

Hi Kathryn,

Thank you for the kind words. Re: the Ultimate Supplement. I do not think there is any fact to this rumor. Most likely what happened is that somebody started feeding a pregnant bitch with a product containing chelated minerals. The bitch grew some big pups during
this pregnancy. So, her owner made up a new Canine Fanciers LAW. Must have been the chelated minerals. I don’t think so, A word of caution: You must be careful of these “LAW makers”; they are everywhere throughout the world of dogs. I always say never believe “someone,” “they,” or the “I heard” group . Usually what they pass on is not based on fact. My best.
