MY DOG IS ITCHY AND RED ON THE BACK OF LEGS CANT AFFORD ALLERGY TESTING

June 10, 2014

I have tried a diet for food allergies and it didn't seem to help. The skin on the inner part of his back legs is red, itchy, so will building up his immune system help? I can't afford putting him through all the allergy testing. Could it be due to a behavior issue because he tends to be a little on the nervous side.

Ann,

What you describe is perhaps a flea allergy or a contact allergy where the dog lies down on something he is allergic to. For a flea allergy, I recommend Frontline, and I'd observe Where the dog spends most of his time laying down to see if what he’s laying on is causing the reaction. A dog can be allergic to anything. It is my recommendation that you use the Healthy Skin and Coat formula on your dog as we've found it relieves itching conditions. I hope this helps. Good luck!
