My first question is, is it bad to run a dog on a treadmill and could it hurt him at about 5 months. And if it’s OK, what would be the youngest I could do it at?

Treadmills are good for adult dogs over 1 year of age — giant breeds a little later. A younger dog can be exercised to a much lesser degree, e. g., 10 minutes at a time. However, if you want to do this, you should give the joints some guarantee they will not get inflamed. We do have an Healthy Joint formula that would be excellent to give to any active dog. Treadmill or just working, agility, etc. I would also advise some Puppy/Pregnancy formula in about 1/2 doses if you use both formulas. Hope this helps you.
